Californian Invasion: Day Three

Today was the second BIG day! I got up at 4:30am (before my parents got up) just to finish my ARC-10 Starfighter! At 6:45am I woke Dad up to show him my finished Starfighter! When everybody was ready we went to the San Diego Zoo! Aunt Andra, Uncle David, Matthew, and James went with us. First we went to the Reptile House. The animals there were AWESOME! I especially like the skink that looks like it has two heads (it looks like the other head is on the tail).

Then we went to the Skyfari (you ride in a sky tram high above the park). This was where we waited for the Skyfari.

Here I am in the sky tram!

Here are Mom and Jenna in the sky tram. Isn't Jenna cute?!

Once we got down to the other side we went to the polar bears. What was really cool was that where you were standing there was a glass panel between you and the water so that you could see the polar bears swim.

Isn't this tiny deer cute?!

Then we went in a little aviary where you could see these arctic diving ducks that dove under the water to get their food.

Next we went to the panda bears. Mostly you could see the big panda bears, but in one spot you could see the baby panda bear high up in a tree.

Then we went to the gorillas. What was really cute was that two of the Mamas had babies and there was a silverback (the leader of a gorilla pack). There was also this cute little gorilla that went around doing silly stuff. After that we saw some other monkeys.

One of my favorite things we did was going to see the sea lion show. At first they brought out a sea lion, and the lady talked about how seals and sea lions are not the same. Then the sea lion did some tricks. They chose a kid from the audience. First she had to give the sea lion a hug! She fed it next. What was really cool was that I got to see a squid that she was holding to give to the sea lion. Then she learned some commands for the sea lion. Finally the sea lion gave her a kiss! (It was on the cheek.) Then she went back to her seat and the lady brought out the most active sea lion at the zoo. The tricks it did were amazing! Once the show was over we went on a double decker bus! We went around the zoo on the bus and saw some of the animals that we didn't get to see. Then we went on the sky tram two more times (because it was so cool!), and then we went home to Arizona. That night we stayed in Yuma, Arizona, so that we didn't have to drive till midnight.
